Although it's probably better for the game of Cricket if there was a strong West Indies side the fact is no one apart from ourselves were crying when England hit rock bottom at various point during the 80s and 90s.
I am glad we are taking advantage of the weaknesses of sides like the WI and showing no mercy like they and the Aussies would always do in the past.
We are probably only 2 players away from having a really great side that can win ashes series and trophies.

I'm not sure Constantine was that fearsome a bowler, either, certainly not in the company of the great ones you posted, to which I would and Sylvester Clarke and Ian Bishop. Especially Bishop.

Would some runs knocked up against some half hearted Windies bowlers facing a 350 run first innings deficit made much difference?
The selectors need to make a decision as to who they see as the best choices for the Ashes and give them two more Tests against the Windies to feel a bit more comfortable in the team.
Having settled on Stoneman, Westley & Malan they need to be given a chance.
Given England have their top 2 wicket takers of all time, their leading run scorer ever and are captained by their best batsman of the last 20 years I can't imagine why they don't think they should win the Ashes easily no matter who bats at 2,3 & 5.

We shouldn't have made them follow on seeing as stoneman westley and malan now only have 2 more tests to show they can do anything before the ashes

They retired Chanderpaul.
Left him out when he was still scoring runs but was just short of passing Lara in runs scored.
Viv ran out 3 of the first 4 Aust batsmen in the 1975 World Cup final including both Chappells. Probably won them the game along with Lloyds brilliant century as the margin was only 17 runs at the end.
They were always fantastic in the field and caught everything.
Don't think I have seen a team dive over more balls than the Windies did in this Test. Cook's 200 came up by a ball going through third mans legs with a ball he could have sat on.

So true. Didn't they have 5 run outs against Australia, in the first world cup final? Vaguely remember Sir Viv, got 3 of them?

They were the greatest team of all time but they also played hard and were ruthless.
When I watch this current team .... allowing for the fact that most of their players are sub-standard .... they look half hearted. Noone gets angry or bowls a few bouncers or breaks sweat.
And the fielding is absolutely atrocious.

At their peak they had one of the best opening partnerships in Greenidge and Haynes, One of the all time great batsmen in Viv Richards and the finest fast bowling partnership ever in Roberts and Holding. On top of that, a ruthless and talented captain in Clive Lloyd. Losing to them was inevitable but also a privilege to watch.
This lot today are an embarrassment.

It was the outstanding stat of the Windies 80's heyday.
For the record obviously they weren't playing SA but their record in the 80's v the others was:
